1 Peter 2:12
Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.
As believers we have the opportunity to do things in this world that is not all that honourable. Let’s be honest the idea of “ALL SINS FORGIVEN” can cause laziness. The old saying: “it is easier to get forgiveness than permission” resounds steadily in our ears.
Honour speaks of something more though. It speaks of living a life others admire. All of us know the right thing, and our convictions are clear, yet we lose sight of them in the endeavour to look after ourselves. It is true that a life of honour and conduct is expensive. It takes self sacrifice. What is never talked of is the result of that life. GOOD CONDUCT leads to God’s glorification. People will see God’s greatness through our actions!
Give the people that see you the opportunity to see God’s greatness and Glorify Him.
