Welcome to Blaze Team Ministries
Whether you completely LOVE what you see at BTM or not, we have one responsibility. Prepare believers for ministry.
Whether you stay to grow or decide to move on, we want to take this opportunity to implant the most important and foundational 4 principles into your spiritual life. These four groundrules – so to speak – have become, in our opinion, the foundation for any believer to excel in their spiritual lives. If you just gave your life to Christ – This is the focus. If you have been saved for many years – This is the focus.
Four rules of Spiritual life
1. Love God. Mar 12:30
2. Obey God. Joh 14:21
3. Know the Truth. Joh 8:31-32
4. Body grows itself. Eph 4:15-16
Let’s spend some time explaining the four basic rules
1. Love God – You must have a passionate, intimate relationship with God.
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
The most important thing to have is a personal, passionate relationship with God. You should talk to Him, and He should respond. You should realize how much He loves you and respond to that love.
This might seem over simplistic, but this is more important than anything else. This is the starting block for any person. God and you! We don’t have anything else to work from.
Obviously, making Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior is step 1, but this restores your relationship with Father God and a visitation of the Holy Spirit inside of you. These are not only a way to start as a christian but this remains the single most important part of any believers life.
2. Obey God – Hear His voice and obey His instruction, swiftly and effectively?
Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”
Jesus Christ makes a powerful statement! Point 1 above says : love God. This point says IF YOU love God, you will obey him. Faking Love is something we are so good at, but the one sure test is obedience……… Or in a more revealing statement : Surrender your will.
There is two statements, however I want to clarify.
Firstly, the “commandments” Jesus talks about is not Law (as in 10 commandments). No, they refer to something much more personal. It is easy to say you will follow the 10 commandments, but Jesus is referring to instructions of a personal matter. Instructions that arise from a close and personal conversation. What is it God is talking to you about? What is on His heart? Maybe forgiving someone that has hurt you, or speaking to someone about God’s love you have never spoken to and don’t know at all. The book of Galatians (in the Bible) speaks about the fact that we have to keep in step with the Holy Spirit. God will deal with the things He wants sorted out. This is not an excuse to live any way we want….. Never. Instead it is a higher life. A life of complete surrender to God in any and all things we do. That is why it sprouts from a personal and passionate relationship with God.
3. Know the truth – Only the truth will set people free.
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
At BTM we truly belive that the truth makes a difference. Not the opinion of individuals or the knowledge of sin. This means that we don’t believe that counseling can set people free or help them change. Simply because counseling at it’s heart is helping people understand what they do wrong and what they should do. It is based on the premise that we have a clue how people can be helped. At BTM we believe that people need to hear the truth. Change will come, when people discover the truth, not the reality or the problem. A few things about the truth should be noted
A. The truth is God’s Words.
B. The truth is not relative, bound by time or culture.
C. The truth can be seen in different ways and can affect you differently.
D. Discovering the truth will always change something, but not neccesarily what we want changed.
Maybe it is important to explain something else. This rule is the primary reason that we don’t try to fix you. Rule 1,2,3 and even 4 is God’s way to cause growth. We don’t see any reason God needs assistance. It is our task to help you the Word of God, the Word of truth…. CLEARLY. God will change whatever it is He wants fixed, not us.
4. Body grows itself – The Body of Christ grows itself up to maturity through the participation of all the members.
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
The church of God is not an individual! It is a group. We have no individual goals, dreams or plans. God uses the church which is the body of Christ. The same applies with spiritual growth. We can not find any other way to grow outside of the Body of Christ. God uses the varied gifts, personalities, revelations and testimonies to grow each other. You see, it is a blend of all believers in a moment gathered that creates an opportunity for believers to grow and be encouraged.
Outside of the Body, you have no chance for survival or growth. The Body needs you and you need it. Just like an organ needs the body and the body needs it.
