One of the most important things to understand about life is that no person can make any promise on behalf of someone else.
Neither by swearing, promising or dedication to God on behalf of someone else. It is simple to understand, but hard to grasp. I can not give my child to Jesus. He has to do that by himself. I can not make someone a believer. I can not force belief onto someone. Simply because the Bible says, “everyone carries his own load”. Everyone will stand before God by himself. You are judged on your actions and your choices. No one else can do that for you.
The promise made at blood river does not include me. I will neither be blessed because of it, or cursed because of it. I am blessed in Christ, not in anything else. I am nit saved because my parents know or serve God. I am saved because I believe Jesus is my saviour.
for it is written,
“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall confess to God.”
So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.
