We have been rightfully taught that we should not care about other peoples opinion of you. This is extremely important for self-worth. We should know what we are worth, by God’s measure. He created you and God therefore determine your worth.
There is one verse where God shows us the importance of one opinion that is important. Strangely it is the world and not other believers. God also makes it clear that the world must not only be a measure here, but that this measurement is important.
John 13:34-35 – A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Through the eyes of the world, our discipleship is measured. If we have to look through the eyes of unbelievers at your work, would they recognise that you are a disciple of the living God?
