Although Jacob was the one that deceived and some would even say swindled both his older brother and his father into gaining the inheritance and blessing that was not his own, becomes the bearer of the blessing that was to come to us all. We don’t say….. I serve the God of Abraham, Isaac and Esau. NO– it is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. What made this deceiver so powerful? Does God love deceit? Does He love cheating? No, never. Yet, he inherited it all.
Even later in Hebrews 12:13-16 Esau is portrayed as the unholy one. Not Jacob, the deceiver but Esau the one who lost it all. Why? Because Esau lost track of the eternal (unseen) value of the inheritance and was more focused on fulfilling the desires of the flesh.
It seems like although the earthly things seems real. God favours those who fights for the unseen. He especially loves those who fights until they see what God has promised. Those who place their value on thing that are not physical but eternal. They become God’s showpiece.
Where is your focus? Would you loose your physical desires to ensure your spiritual inheritance and promises?
Can people see this in you? Does your prayer life reflect someone that places more value on the unseen than the seen?
