Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. 13 Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
Rejoicing or being glad in hope is an interesting statement. It means that we should be glad in our faith. Hope or faith or future expectation should be the cause of our gladness, joy or rejoicing. As part of the believers On planet earth, I think we tend to do the opposite. If you hear a believer talk about the end times, they seem grim at best. “dark times are coming” and other phrases like “those who are bad will be worse” are just some of the examples. We tend to get negative of the future. Maybe we are being robbed? Maybe satan is stealing our children’s future. They see our grim response to seeing the future, and they don’t want it.
Children and unbelievers should get excited about the future when they talk to us. But why not? Our future is so secure, why not rejoice? Do we believe that He will never leave us nor forsake us? Do we believe that everything will work out for the glory of God, and our best? Do you believe that the best is yet to come? What is the worst that happen? You go to heaven! Why not rejoice in your hope of the future!
Hope! It breathes new life into the people around you!
